Are all swimming portions in the ocean and are they all about 1 mile. I need training suggestions since I am not a great swimmer

No, all swims are not the same. They can happen in a pool, pond, lake or ocean and their distances and run anywhere up to a mile (and beyond if you sign up for a longer event). Below are some links for you to check out. We’ve used these resources and have found them to work very well:
