Triathlon Racing Category

Triathlon Event  I want to register for my first triathlon, but I have no idea what category I should be in. There’s seems to be a “Clydesdale/Athena” group and everyone else in another group. How do I know which group I should be in?

Verhanika from Washington

Triathlon Event  Hi Verhanika,
Thank you for contacting!

Great question! “Clydesdale” athletes are male competitors 200+ pounds and “Athena” athletes are female competitors 150+ pounds. Unless you fit into one of those categories, you should sign up to be an “age-grouper” or, perhaps someday, “professional”.

Be well.
