2nd Annual Great Lakes Miltisport Cycling and Running Expo

Triathlon EventWARM UP YOUR WINTER WITH THE 2ND ANNUAL GREAT LAKES MULTISPORT CYCLING & RUNNING EXPO

One of Largest Expos in the Country and Proceeds Benefit Racers Against Childhood Cancer

Milwaukee, WI, December 3, 2009 -- No need for post-holiday season blues this year when you can warm up your winter at the second annual Great Lakes Multisport Cycling & Running Expo Saturday and Sunday January 30 - 31, 2010 at the Wisconsin Expo Center at Wisconsin State Fair Park. Proceeds benefit Racers Against Childhood Cancer (RACC), who use their passion and competitive spirit to raise money for research and the fight to defeat childhood cancer.

The Expo is one of the largest of its kind in the United States with more than 90,000 square feet of exhibit space, over two dozen technical sessions and mini-workshops, team and individual bike time trials, swim stroke analysis and VO2 testing, the final RACC Winter Series 5K, the Salus Corporate Challenge Walk/Run Across America, and events for children and much more.

"This is a fantastic celebration of everything fitness," says Rick Kattouf, owner of Team Kattouf and an Expo speaker and exhibitor. "The Expo offers it all. There is nothing else like it in the country."
The Expo is designed to motivate and inspire enthusiasts whether the goal is living a healthy lifestyle or qualifying for the Boston Marathon or Ironman World Championship.  More than 6,000 attendees are expected ranging from recreational beginners to elite athletes.

"We've scheduled this year's Expo the weekend before the NFL Super Bowl and two weeks before the 2010 Winter Olympics to fire up those looking for a place to get together to enjoy their passion in the dead of winter," says RACC Executive Director and Co-Founder Cole Braun.  "Attendees can do more than shop.  They can try out the latest products and bring their own gear to swim, bike, run, and participate in hands on workshops and clinics."

Topics to be discussed at this year's free Expo technical sessions and mini-workshops include Acupuncture and Herbal Remedies for the Treatment of Sports Injuries, Compression Clothing: How to Use for Energy & Recovery, Core Strength in 10 minutes a Day, Swim Technique and Open Water Swimming, Cyclist's Toolkit for Staying Healthy, and Basic Running Mechanics and Shoe Selection.

The Expo also features a series of two-hour workshops and personal testing/analysis opportunities, all of which require advance registration and a fee.  Participants receive free Expo entry and premium items such as technical clothing and detailed workbooks.  Please monitor the Expo web site www.multisportexpo.com and Facebook Fan Page to register for workshops and testing/analysis events.

Expo entry fees are $7 in advance or $10 at the door.  The first 4,000 attendees receive a goodie bag with valuable coupons and discounts valued at more than $150 and the first 1,000 receive a special RACC gift. Expo entry is free for Expo volunteers.  For information on exhibiting, attending or volunteering at the Expo please e-mail cole.braun@raccfund.org or call 262-751-5636.

The second annual Great Lakes Multisport Cycling and Running Expo is organized by and proceeds benefit Racers Against Childhood Cancer www.raccfund.org, founded in 2007 by Cole Braun and Jon McGlocklin, co-founder of the MACC fund.
