Racing with your Ipod
P.S. Love your training workout for 1st timers. Heather from New York ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for contacting TriathaNewbie.com and thank you for your kind words regarding the website. Congrats on getting hooked!!! You're not going to like the advice we have for you, but we promise that it's in your best interest! Although music can be a wonderful tool in swim and run training, it should never be used in conjunction with a bicycle (unless it's stationary). It's a huge safety hazard and is prohibited during racing. We're actually very surprised that the race organizers in your previous race allowed you to use it. Per triathlon race etiquette, we also discourage race participants from using music devices during any leg of a race. Unlike training, you are swimming, biking and running with hundreds of people. You need to be aware of your surroundings at all time. Should your music be an emergency, we suggest that you only use it for your run...but please keep it low and be aware of the people around you. Be well, Julie McGuire
