Question on Mountain bike and walking during
the run portion
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Yes, it is ok to race with a mountain bike and many people do. We would suggest that you try to find a road bike if the triathlon is being held on the road because mountain bikes are generally heavier, have thicker tires and aren't as aerodynamic. A road bike will get you there with less wasted energy. 2) Yes, you can walk fast during the run, but we suggest that you take a bit more time to train for the event so that you can attempt a slow jog. 2b) We don't believe that there are time limits on mini's, but it is respectful to be adequately trained for an event so that the volunteers and administrators aren't asleep when you get to the finish line. :) Good luck and please let us know how your new race turns out!
