| Where to Begin

Thank you for contacting TriathaNewbie.com! Where we don't know what kind of shape you are currently in, it would be really hard for us to tell you how long it will take you to train for a mini-triathlon. The average person needs to start training 6-9 months prior to their event. It may be more or less depending on your current fitness level. The final goal is to be able to sustain a fairly intense workout for roughly 2 hours. Read through the Swim, Bike and Run pages of our website to educate yourself on mini-triathlons. Check out these books below to find a training schedule that works for you.
We're guessing that you won't be ready until next year and those races don't start posting until January 2010. We suggest that you pick a training regimen that prepares you for the summer as PA doesn’t have any winter tris :) Email us in February and we’ll help you find a great mini-triathlon in your area. Be well, Megan
