- The adrenaline should be pumping now! Stretch out to help with the nervous energy.
- Head over to the water about 15 minutes before the start so you can get your body used to the water temperature and let your mind wrap around what you’re about to do.

Don’t freak out! Talk to a fellow triathlete if you start to psyche yourself out.

Be sure you have your wet suit, cap and goggles on. Be sure that the wet-suit strap is where you can locate it after the swim.

Wade into the water when your heat is called.

If you are a new triathlete or a novice swimmer, stay behind or to the outside of the main group. You can get hurt in the group if you are not a strong swimmer.
